Privacy Policy
Draft for review — updated October 26, 2026.
Spokt, LLC operates Spokt and eFamily. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use efamily, our related family-sharing services, and customer support. The two brands are operated by the same company; a different brand or domain does not create a separate privacy operator.
1. Information we collect
- Account and profile information: information you provide when creating or updating an account, such as your name, username, email address, profile picture, birthday, and any contact details you choose to supply.
- Family content and activity: posts, comments, photographs, videos, files, polls, events, family information, hub memberships, and interactions with that content.
- Information from other members: relatives or hub administrators may invite you, provide your name or email address, or include information about you in shared content, even if you have not created an account.
- Billing information: subscription, payment, and transaction records. Payment details entered through Stripe's payment fields are sent to Stripe; we use payment tokens and related billing records to manage subscriptions.
- Support communications: messages, attachments, and account details you provide when asking for help.
- Technical and usage information: information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, login attempts, activity records, and diagnostic information used to operate, understand, and protect the service.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide family-sharing features, manage accounts and memberships, process subscriptions, deliver invitations and notifications, respond to support requests, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and maintain and improve the service. We also use information to meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
We may send service messages, such as account notices, billing messages, and security notifications. You can manage available notification preferences in your account. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the instructions in those messages; this does not necessarily stop essential account or service messages.
3. Your content and who can see it
You retain your rights in the content you contribute. Spokt, LLC does not claim ownership of your family photographs, posts, or other user-generated content. We process that content to provide the service.
Content shared within a hub is intended for the people who have access to that hub or the relevant sharing feature. Hub administrators can manage memberships and have administrative capabilities within their hubs. The audience for information depends on where it is shared and the applicable access settings.
Other members may copy, download, or share information outside the service. We cannot control those copies or their subsequent use.
Do not upload information you are not entitled to share with your hub members.
4. Service providers and other disclosures
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Operating the service does require processing information through service providers, including providers of hosting, file storage, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, and customer support. These providers may receive information needed for the functions they perform.
We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process, to protect people or the security and rights of the service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the business. Any such transfer remains subject to applicable law.
5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, maintain sessions, remember preferences, and support service functionality. Mobile applications may use authentication tokens instead of browser cookies. Blocking cookies or clearing stored credentials may affect login and other features.
We also use first-party usage and diagnostic records to understand and maintain the service. Where enabled, pages load Google Analytics code, which can send browser, device, page, and network information to Google and may use cookies or similar identifiers. Google's handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy. You can also review Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We do not display third-party advertising on the service.
6. Retention, deletion, and backups
We retain information for the operation of the service and as needed for purposes such as security, billing, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Retention depends on the type of information and the circumstances; this policy does not promise one retention period for all records.
We make regular backups. Removing information from the active service does not necessarily remove every backup copy immediately. Account deactivation, leaving a hub, and permanent deletion are different actions. Content you contributed to shared hubs may remain available to other members, depending on the action taken.
You can request account or content deletion through support. We will review the request, including any need to verify your identity, other members' interests in shared content, and applicable legal obligations. We do not promise immediate erasure from every backup or from copies other members have made.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can update available account and profile details and manage available notification settings. Contact us to request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to raise a concern about information another member has provided about you.
Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights, including rights to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Applicable law may permit or require us to retain some information.
8. Children and family information
Family content may include information about children supplied by parents, guardians, or other relatives. An adult sharing a child's information should have the authority to do so and consider the child's privacy and the audience for that information.
If you are a parent or guardian with concerns about a child's account or personal information, please contact us so we can review the situation. This policy does not treat a relative's invitation or upload as a substitute for any parental consent required by law.
9. Security and international use
We use safeguards intended to protect information, including HTTPS for connections to the service. No online service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your credentials private and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States, where privacy laws may differ. Describing our service as US-based does not remove rights or obligations that apply under other laws.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post revisions on this page and update the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law. A revised policy does not override rights or choices that applicable law protects.
